This is my game for the Brackey's Game Jam 2/2 2025

What is it

Itś a small game where you play a alien sheep that crash landed on a planet infested with ghost sheep you have to lure them into the purple alien ghost trap and survive as long as possible


The Rules

Its a rouge like so if you die the game restarts at 0 you have to survive as many rounds as possible every round will increase the enemy sheep count by 1 if one touches you it`s GAME OVER

Every round you can increase your speed or 2x your upgrade points

Press H to get a compass that shows you the direction of the enemy's and your Trap sphere


The Development Week

Sunday

The First day was used to come up with a game concept that would fit the theme "Risk It For The Biscuit"

I came up with the idea of a sheep that has to run away from a wolf and get it to fall into a trap

at this point it was a Sheep vs Wolf game with literal traps like stone holes in the ground or wood cages so no space or zombie theme

at this point there was nothing so I don`t have any pictures


Monday

The 2. day started with the basic programming like character controller, Planet physics, int references and basic points calculation and getting some assets textures and audio clips that I needed


Tuesday

Tuesday I programmed the enemy spawner, player damage / death, and the Trap Sphere also I finally linked the speed skill to the player controllers speed


Wednesday

On Wednesday I made the zombie sheep Enemy`s added 5 variations and spawns, made a sprint button (LeftShift + W), Save system for the highscore and placed some trees, plants. stones and bridges in the map that lead the player to the 4 of the 5 enemy spawns, also I added a jump function

  


Thursday

Thursday I made sheep sounds that can be activated by sprinting, pressing M, dying or upgrading your sheep, added some animations for the player sheep and camera also I made the zombie sheep's Ghost sheep's now and they will be destroyed when walking into the Trap Sphere on the map or when its a game over for you. I linked some things together like animations, audio clips, exit button and more also I worked a little bit on the world and added some stuff like trees and bushes


Friday

Friday I made a compass with 2 arrows one showing the enemy and the other showing the trap sphere,  made the sprint limited, also added some trees and flowers and made a playable demo version to test if the sound is working (had problems with that at my last GameJam), also I made a "UFO" and "Handheld Game Console" model for use in the intro cutscene (if I have enough time left), and fixed a shader error where the Trap Sphere would appear blue and not transparent when playing on WebGL


Saturday

The Last day I made the intro cutscene and a cheat script (Black, White) changes the color of the sheep also I fixed some bugs and made it more or less playable

there are still some bugs like you cant jump on anything that isn't the planet It will throw you back on the planet

and I wanted to add a character select screen that unlocks new Sheep's if you get a certain highscore




I Learned much on the way and really appreciate that something like GameJams exist where I can learn new skills :)
